Abstract
Sve većom osvještenosti posljedicama zagađenja zraka kao što su globalno zatopljenje i podizanje razine mora, ekologija i zaštita okoliša postaju jedan od najvažnijih segmenata istraživačkog rada. Brodski dizel motori su jedan od najvećih izvora onečišćenja zraka štetnim ispušnim plinovima (poput dušikovih i sumporovih oksida, ugljikovog dioksida, itd.) i stoga postaju predmetom regulacije Međunarodne pomorske organizacije (IMO) koja djeluje pod okriljem UN-a. U ovom radu su opisane metode smanjenja onečišćenja štetnim ispušnim plinovima kao odgovor brodara na sve strože zahtjeve Međunarodne pomorske organizacije.
Abstract (english)
As the awareness of consequences of air pollution increases such as global warming and rising of sea level, ecology and environmental protection become one of the most important segments of science research. Marine diesel engines are one of the greatest sources of air pollution by harmful gases (such as nitrous and sulphur oxides, carbon dioxide, etc.) thereby International Marine organization (IMO), agency of United Nations, sets limit for emissions of such gases. In this assignment methods for complying to such limits are described as respond of ship owners to gradually tighter limits.
