Abstract Cilj rada je upoznavanje čitatelja s pojmom fotografije, najvažnijim fotografskim tehnikama i
pomoću UV i IR fotografiranja umjetnina.
podcrteža, podslojeva boja, krivotvorine i sl.
Abstract (english) The paper aimed to acquaint a reader with the concept of photography, the most important
photographic techniques and their specificities, and with its application in the conservation
and restoration profession as a method of research in the form of photographic
documentation. Knowledge of the different light sources (such as normal illumination, side
and specular illumination, transmissive illumination, low-angle illumination, and photography
with polarized filters) can play an important role in shooting museum objects. Light sources
can be used to illuminate an object, which is important because that is the only way to
highlight object surface details, texture and shape, which is crucial for quality photo
documentation. Photo documentation is an important segment of the conservation and
restoration profession since it provides one of the most effective and frequent pictorial notes
in heritage documentation. Moreover, the paper explains special shots and specific scientific
methods - a methodological exploration of details that are invisible to the naked eye, using
UV and IR artwork photography. Such examination of the artwork can provide useful
information and conclusions regarding the object under study, such as analysis and detection
of underlining, sub-layers of color, forgeries, etc.
