Abstract
U radu se daje pregled načina primjene cjepiva kao sve značajnijeg čimbenika u zaštiti zdravlja ribe u komercijalnom uzgoju. Nakon povijesnog pregleda razvoja cjepiva i njihove primjene koji se odvijao usporedo sa značajnim globalnim rastom broja uzgajališta i količine ribe koja se dobiva iz uzgoja tijekom posljednjih osamdesetak godina, daje se prikaz dosadašnjih spoznaja o strukturi i načinu funkcioniranja imunosnog sustava riba s posebnim osvrtom na adaptivni imunosni sustav i mehanizme stjecanja imuniteta cijepljenjem. U pregledu vrsta cjepiva i načina njihove primjene, naglasak je stavljen na prednosti i nedostatke svakog pristupa. Na kraju rada daje se pregled postupka razvoja cjepiva od faze istraživanja do ulaska u komercijalnu primjenu.
Abstract (english)
The thesis provides an overview of the modes of use of vaccines as an increasingly significant factor in the health protection of commercially farmed fish. After an overview of the history of the development of fish vaccines and their application, which occurred concurrently with the significant global increase in a number of fisheries and quantity of fish obtained from farming during the last eight decades, the present knowledge about the structure and the functioning of the fish immune system is presented, with a special emphasis on the adaptive immune system and mechanisms of acquiring immunity through vaccination. In the overview of the types of vaccines and modes of vaccine administration, the focus is on the advantages and disadvantages of each type and mode. In the final part of the thesis, the process of vaccine development from the research phase to the commercial application of vaccines is presented.
