Abstract Sveti Vlaho bio je liječnik i biskup u antičkoj Sebasti, a umro je mučeničkom smrću. Jedna od najpoznatijih legendi koje su ga proslavile je ozdravljenje djeteta kojem je zapela riblja kost u grlu.
Zaštitnik je Dubrovnika jer je, prema predaji, obranio Grad od napada Mlečana, kada se ukazao plebanu Stojku koji je o tome upozorio gradske oce.
Njegov se blagdan slavi svake godine u veljači, u posebnoj ceremoniji u koju je uključena većina Dubrovčana. Svjetovno i duhovno jedinstvo prožima Dubrovnik i njegove žitelje baš zbog toga što je za vrijeme trajanja Feste sve posvećeno slavlju zaštitnika. U ovom diplomskom radu prikazana je teorijska podloga Feste svetog Vlaha, štovanje sveca i njegov životopis, slavlje Feste u okolici Dubrovnika, kao i medijska popraćenost Feste.
U fokusu istraživanja bila je sama komunikacija Feste, način na koji se ona objavljivala puku. U početku je to bilo čitanjem proglasa, a danas u tome sudjeluju i suvremeni mediji. Cilj ovog rada je istraživanje proslavljanje i organizacije Feste svetog Vlaha od početka slavljenja, dakle od 11. stoljeća do danas. Zatim, imperativ u istraživanju bilo je štovanje sveca, te kako i kada je isto započeto. Obratila sam pažnju i na pročavanje svečeva životopisa i slavlja Feste u okolici Dubrovnika. Pomoću anketnog upitnika ispitano je i mišljenje, te stav Dubrovčana o tome koliko su povezani s Festom, odnosno na koji je način doživljavaju. Prema rezultatima provedene ankete, može se zaključiti da je Festa važan događaj za sve stanovnike Dubrovnika, te da stanovnici većinom poznaju njezin povijesni značaj, kao i običaje. Također, većina ispitanika smatra Festu posebnim dijelom kulture Grada. Veliki dio ispitanika aktivno sudjeluje u slavlju Feste.
Abstract (english) Saint Blaise was a physician and bishop in ancient Sebastia, and he died as a martyr. One of the legends that made him famous was the healing the child who had a fishbone stuck in his throat.
He is the protector of Dubrovnik because, according to tradition, he defended the City from Venetian attack, when he appeared to the parish priest Stojko, who warned the city government about it.
His holiday is celebrated every year in February, in a special ceremony in which most of the people of Dubrovnik are involved. Secular and spiritual unity permeates Dubrovnik and its inhabitants precisely because during the Festa everything is dedicated to the celebration of the patron saint. accompaniment of the Festa. This thesis presents theoretical background of St. Blaise festival, worship of the saint and his biography, celebration of mentioned festival in surrounding areas of Dubrovnik, as well as the media coverage of the Festival.
The focus of the research was the communication of st. Blaise festival itself, the way in it was announced to the public. In the beginning, it was by reading the proclamation, and today the modern media also participates in it. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the celebration and organization of the Feast of St. Blaise from the beginning of the celebration, from the 11th century until today. Then, the imperative in the research was worship of the saint, and how and when it was started. I also paid attention to the study of the saint's biography and the celebration of the festival in the vicinity of Dubrovnik. The opinion questionnaire was used to examine the opinion and attitude of the people of Dubrovnik about how much they are connected to festival, ie how they perceive it. According to the results of the survey, it can be concluded that St. Blaise festival is an important event for all residents of Dubrovnik, and that residents mostly know its historical significance, as well as customs. Also, most respondents consider festival as a special part of the City's culture. A large part of the respondents actively participate in the celebration of the Festa.
