Procvat masovnog turizma, a samim time i nautičkog turizma, uz pozitivne efekte sa sobom donosi i niz problema.
Abstract (english) Mass tourism is a form of tourism in which there is a large number of tourists that travel organized. Development of this type of tourism begins after World War II, and culminates with mass building of facilities for the large number of guests in the 1980s, and with that growth of objects for accepting boats, yachts and cruise ships. Nautical tourism in Croatia began its growth during Homeland War, and reached its development boom after the War. Mass tourism has greatly contributed to the development of nautical tourism, but also mass tourism has benefited from nautical tourism, so we can say that their connection is mutual. Nautical tourism is among the most promising form of tourism, which in recent times has a tendency of rapid growth. The boom of mass tourism, and therefore nautical tourism, with positive effects also brings a number of problems. Because of its geographical location and limited space, Dubrovnik does not have well solved traffic infrastructure, a large number of guests from the accommodation facilities are faced with transit guests from cruise ships, creating a large crowd on the most attractive locations, such as eg. The Old Town. The purpose of the research is to emphasize the complementary nature of mass and nautical tourism, see from which point they begin to complement each other, how mass nautical tourism positively, and how negatively impact the development of Dubrovnik, and point to the impact of nautical tourism as a selective type of tourism on the development of tourism as industry. The main objective of the research is to identify and evaluate the impact of mass tourism as a phenomenon in tourism today on the nautical tourism, and to define the impact of nautical tourism as a selective type of tourism on tourism as a whole. Additional research objectives were placed: evaluate arrival motive as a factor of development of nautical tourism, and evaluate the impact of the level of development of the national economy and increasing social standards on the appearance of nautical tourism. For the study we used data from a survey of socio-demographic profile of tourists in Dubrovnik in May 2014. The traditional concept of mass tourism, which was defined as "solid" packages, today as such no longer exists. Tourists with higher purchasing power seek more personal approach, so these tourists receive special attention, a tourist is recognized as an individual, and selective tourism types are developed. The impact of mass on nautical tourism is reflected in the increase of reception capacity. A large number of tourists as a result of mass proportionally affects the number nautical tourists. From economically strong countries comes the higher number of tourists, and the same goes with cruisers.
