Modularity is a new approach in designing laptops. Unlike traditional laptops, in a modular laptop, each individual component can be easily removed without the use of specialized tools or the need to visit a service center. This makes maintenance easier, extends the computer's lifespan, and brings significant savings. There are several computers on the market that have implemented the principles of modularity. Each of these designs comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. The Pi-Top Raspberry Pi 3 B Model, Panasonic TOUGHBOOK 55, and Framework Laptop 16 are described in this paper. Two Autodesk programs were used to design the model. AutoCAD is used for a two-dimensional representation of the computer with measurements. The 3ds Max program is used for a three-dimensional representation of the computer and animation of its assembly. The model described in the paper is one of the possible solutions that takes inspiration from both existing modular and traditional laptops and attempts to create the best solution that will satisfy the customer. The roles of each individual component are described, how they works, and how they fit into the overall system.
