Abstract
U Republici Hrvatskoj suvremena meteorološka služba počinje djelovati još u 19. stoljeću. Još ranije, sredinom 17. stoljeća, nastaju prve zabilježbe o visini vodostaja, a 1817. godine je na rijeci Savi nadaleko od Stare Gradiške osnovana prva hidrološka postaja. Vremenska izvješća sastavni su dio pomorskih sigurnosnih informacija u kojima se iznose upozorenja o nevremenu, sinoptički podaci i prognoza vremena za pomorce. Nepovoljne vremenske i oceanografske prilike otežavaju plovidbu i narušavaju uvjete prijevoza tereta i ljudi, a moguće je da u pitanje dovedu i sigurnost broda za plovidbu. Dobro organizirana meteorološka služba pridonosi sigurnosti plovidbe.
Abstract (english)
In the Republic of Croatia, a modern meteorological service starts operating in the 19th century. Earlier in the middle of the 17th century, the first records of the level of water level were made, and in 1817 the first hydrological station was established on the Sava River, far from Stara Gradiska. Time reports are an integral part of naval security information that includes weather warnings, synoptic data, and time forecast for seafarers. Inadequate weather and oceanographic conditions make it difficult to navigate and disturb the conditions of cargo and people, and it is possible to question the safety of the sailing ship in question. A wellorganized meteorological service contributes to sailing safety.
