Abstract
Morske mijene su periodično dizanje i spuštanje morske površine i premještanje vodene mase koje je uzrokovano djelovanjem gravitacijskih sila dva najpoznatija nebeska tijela, Sunca i Mjeseca na vodene mase i Zemljinom rotacijom. Djelovanje morskih mijena objašnjava se statičkom i dinamičkom teorijom. Na morske mijene utječu meteorološki (vjetar, atmosferski zrak) te astronomski elementi (položaj Zemlje, Sunca i Mjeseca). Za proračun elemenata morskih mijena u navigacijskoj se praksi koristi više metoda, ali se najčešće koristi metoda harmonijske analize. Struje morskih mijena nastaju pod utjecajem plimotvorne sile zbog promjene položaja Sunca i Mjeseca. Pomorcima je vrlo važno da znaju kako morske mijene utječu na navigaciju, odnosno da znaju hoće li brod uspjeti proći kroz određeni prolaz, odnosno vrijeme kada će moći proći kroz prolaz.
Abstract (english)
Tides are the periodic rise and fall of the sea surface and the movement of water mass caused by the action of gravitational forces of the two most famous celestial bodies, the Sun and the Moon on water masses and the Earth's rotation. The action of tides is explained by static and dynamic theory. Tides are affected by meteorological (wind, atmospheric air) and astronomical elements (position of the Earth, Sun and Moon). For the calculation of tidal elements in navigation practice, several methods are used, but the method of harmonic analysis is most often used. Tide currents are created under the influence of tidal force due to changes in the position of the Sun and Moon. It is very important for seafarers to know how tides affect navigation, ie to know whether a ship will be able to pass through a certain passage, or the time when it will be able to pass through the passage.
