Mixed migration flows cover different categories of people, from seekers of international protection and avoidance to unregulated and illegal migrants who leave their homelands and move towards a European country for various reasons in search of security and a better standard of living. Irregular or illegal migrations have emerged more recently, continuing in parallel with the delimitation of state border crossings. Such migrations are currently occurring across Europe. The hallmark of the massive European migrant crisis is a large number of illegal border crossings as well as undeclared migrants. The subject of this thesis is the human rights of migrants and immigrants in the territory of the European Union, especially those whose status is not regulated or is illegal. Regardless of their status, there is no justification for inhuman treatment of them, by governments and government agencies – they have their fundamental human rights, like all people. The paper presents the situation with migrants and immigrants at border crossings in European countries, discrimination of migrants in the media, the inhumane reception in Greece and discrimination in the labor market in one of the most developed countries in Europe - Germany.
