Abstract
U ovom preglednom radu opisano je 36 „Životinjskih“ eponima i 42 „Životinjska“ klinička znaka koja se često koriste u neurologiji. Medicinari su općenito podijeljeni u svezi upotrebe eponima. To se osobito odnosi na “humane” eponime kojima se odaje počast osobama koje su opisale ili u upotrebu uvele određene dijagnostičke ili terapijske procedure, opisale različite kliničke simpotome i znakove i sl. Manji je problem sa “životinjskim” i “brojčanim” eponimima prema kojima je većina medicinske zajednice više-manje indiferentna. Postoji gotovo 8.000 medicinskih eponima. Od toga je oko 450 neuroloških “humanih” eponima. Poznavajući maštovitost neurologa, neuroradiologa i neuroznanstvenika za očekivati je nove eponime u budućnosti, tako da i ovaj popis životinjskih eponima sigurno nije konačan.
Abstract (english)
This review describes 36 "animal" eponyms and 42 "animal" clinical signs that are often used in neurology. Physicians are generally divided regarding the use of eponyms. This is especially true with "human" eponyms, which honor those who have described or created certain diagnostic or therapeutic techniques, as well as clinical symptoms and signs. There is less of a problem with "animal" and "numerical" eponyms, to which most of the medical community is more or less indifferent. Nearly 8,000 medical eponyms exist. Around 450 of these are neurological "human" eponyms. Knowing the imagination of neurologists, neuroradiologists, and neuroscientists, new eponyms are to be expected in the future, so this list of animal eponyms is certainly not final.
