Abstract
U današnje doba, prijevoz robe kontejnerskim brodovima ima značajnu ulogu u međunarodnom pomorskom prometu, te u svjetskoj ekonomiji. Zahvaljujući kontejnerizaciji, teret se prijevozi na sigurniji, brži i učinkovitiji način na području cijelog svijeta. U ovom diplomskom radu obrađuju se pojmovi kontejnera i kontejnerizacije, razvoj kontejnerskih brodova kroz povijest, kontejnerske luke i terminali, te operateri kontejnerskih brodova. U radu se također razmatraju i trendovi razvoja kontejnerske flote.
Abstract (english)
Nowadays, container shipping is important in international shipping and the global economy. Thanks to containerization, cargo is transported in a safer, faster, and more efficient way around the world. This thesis deals with the concepts of container and containerization, the development of container ships throughout history, container ports and terminals, and container ship operators. The paper also discusses trends in the development of the container fleet.
