The development of the 5G mobile network is becoming more and more important, and the development of this technology in long-term is expected by 2030. The task of this paper is to give a brief overview of the development of 5G technology and a description of TV broadcasting in a 5G system with projections of future development. This paper focuses on TV broadcasting based on the new generation 5G network and what it brings as advantages and disadvantages for viewers and TV companies. Some of the new technologies on which the 5G network is based are described along with its architecture, and predictions where can all its benefits be applied. The paper describes the standards that enable TV broadcasters to introduce new technologies, including the broadcasting of TV signals using 5G technology. Possibilities of connecting television with other technologies are described which will surely change the television industry in the future and offer better opportunities to customers. It was explained what changes 5G technology could bring in relation to traditional TV signal broadcasting, what tests have been performed so far and what is the future of 5G in TV signal broadcasting.
