World Health organization has clearly and concisely defined a health as a state of full physical, mental and social prosperity, not only an absence of sickness and weakness. That definition is being a starting point for promotion of health by nurses. The role of nurse has had deep roots in the history what is interpreted in the chapter about historical aspect of public health. Further, this work in detail describes the public health system mode of operation in three levels: primary, secondary and tertiary level. The primary level is the most extensive and comprehends different activities from hygiene-epidemiological and dental health care while respecting the principles of comprehensiveness, continuity, availability and full access. In examples of health restoration for early and preschool aged children, a nurse has counselling and educative role in different stages: nutrition, security and personal hygiene and other. It stands out the importance of positive attitude of a nurse in the promotion of health. It is described the examples of nurse 's work in accordance with chronological age, beginning from early childhood till elder adults age. The role of a nurse is very demanding and diverse, beginning from preventive, counselling and educational role in different stages. Positive attitude of the nurse in the promotion of health is a key to better quality of public health protection's work.
