sveprisutniji funkcionalno posturalni problem. Sve više istraživanja u Hrvatskoj i svijetu
roditelja i odgojitelja spriječiti daljnje napredovanje iste.
u Cavtatu. Pregled djece kojim smo utvrđivali postojanje skolioze ili nepravilnog držanja
obuhvaćao je mjerenje visine ilijačnih kostiju, visine ramena, asimetrije Lorenzovog trokuta
te Adamsov test. Uzorak ispitanika čini trideset šestero djece u dobi od 5 do 7 godina.
Rezultati istraživanja provedenog u sklopu ovog završnog rada pokazuju sumnju na skoliozu
kod ukupno 11.11% ispitanika, a prevalencija skolioze korištenjem Adamsovog testa iznosila
je 5,55%.
Abstract (english) Scoliosis, a severe three-dimensional rotational spine deformity, which can be seen first as a
curve in the front axis, is the consequence of a poorly developed locomotor system and
ubiquitous functional postural problem. Many studies in Croatia and around the world are
showing that scoliosis is becoming an ever more prevalent problem due to the changed
lifestyle and more time that children are spending sitting, especially in an improper posture,
and less time spent in nature playing or doing a sport. Due to the changes which occur on the
joints and bones and that are having an effect on muscle stabilizers that will later just make
the condition and treatment worse, healing scoliosis is harder and longer after the growing
period is finished. Opposite to that, at an early age scoliosis can be treated and healed in
significant part with help of orthosis, surgical operation or correct exercises that are
prescribed by an orthopaedist or kinesitherapist, and with the education of parents and
educators, the progress of scoliosis can be stopped. The goal of this final work is to explain
and define scoliosis by newest scientific knowledge, how to diagnose and treat scoliosis and
to present how meaningful it is to detect improper posture and scoliosis in preschool children,
including determining the presence of scoliosis in preschool children in kindergarten in
Cavtat. Examination of children to determine scoliosis was consisted of measuring the height
of iliac bones, height of shoulders, asymmetry of Lorenzo’s triangle and Adams’ test. The
sample of respondents consists of thirty-six children from the age of 5 to 7 years. The results
of research made in this final work are suggesting the possibility of scoliosis in 11.11% of the
respondents, and the prevalence of scoliosis using Adams’ test is 5.55%.
